Sanskriti Jindal works as a consultant at Bain, one of the top three MBB consulting firms, based in San Francisco, California. She has observed strong women representation in the firm despite the travel-heavy and intense nature of the work, which often involves 60-hour work weeks and frequent client site travel. Previously, she worked in tech companies and gained international experience through roles in Portugal and the US, as well as business competitions in Belgium and France. Jindal values the support systems at Bain, including safety measures like personal chauffeurs for late-night travel and accommodations for mothers, which enable women to succeed in demanding roles. Beyond her career, she has engaged in philanthropic efforts, including starting stalls in India to sell festival lights and candles crafted by blind girls abandoned by their families, helping them achieve financial independence. She also mentors underprivileged girls worldwide on cracking jobs and advancing in their careers. Jindal advises young women entering the field to question societal limitations, recognize their equal or superior footing to men, and pursue any opportunity without self-doubt based on gender norms.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
There's a lot of subliminal messaging in our lives about what we can and cannot do as women. It's important to reflect and question if something stopping you is real or just a societal limitation planted in your mind. We as women are at equal footing if not better than men. You should never stop yourself just because it's not common or you're not seeing great examples yet. Be open-minded and believe that you can do whatever you want to do. You should never have the question in your head that as a woman should I do this.
