About Sara
Sara Alloush has spent her entire career in logistics and supply chain, totaling 15 years since beginning her studies and internship. She started in Jordan after earning her undergraduate degree in logistics from a university there that offered the program when few others in the region did, beginning with DHL in a call center role that led her to continue in the field. In her current account management position, she oversees global strategic accounts for the past four years, ensuring the company fulfills commitments to customers by managing operational requirements, capturing and communicating client needs internally, and participating in operational, commercial, and customer calls. Alloush recently completed her MBA at Arizona State University while maintaining a full-time job and raising two children, and she earned an AI in Action certification at ASU to build skills in automation and technology. She focuses on implementing automation and AI solutions to replace manual processes like Excel workflows and improve efficiency in the industry. Previously, while at DHL Supply Chain, she was part of a supply chain executive association or consortium. Alloush attributes her success to her cultural background and exposure to diverse cultures and nationalities through living in Jordan, Germany, Dubai in the Middle East, and Arizona.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sara
01What do you attribute your success to?
It's the cultural background, the diversity, like the diversity where I lived, my travel, you know, just the exposure to different cultures and nationalities, that's really that really contributed to my success, because you look at things from different angles. I lived in different places around the world, and I feel like that was that made it that made me kind of special. Because you just understand and process things differently.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Best career advice? Yeah, I mean, be confident and trust yourself. Because, a lot of the times you have a lot of value to give, but you're just unable to do it because you have confidence issues, or you're just not sure about the impact, but the moment you believe in yourself you'd be surprised on what you can do. And if you have issues or struggle to get confidence look at someone that you, how do I say it, shadow or look at someone that has the confidence you want to have. And, yeah, ask for help! Ask for a mentor. And don't choose any mentor. Make sure you choose the right one.
