Dr. Sara Lypps, MBA
Dr. Sara Lypps, MBA, is a seasoned financial advisor and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in financial services, real estate, and business management. Following the unexpected loss of her husband at age 38, Sara became a single mother of four and dedicated herself to helping women—particularly widows—secure their financial futures through comprehensive retirement and estate planning. Her early career also included running her late husband’s granite contracting business, where she balanced hands-on operations with growing her financial advising practice.
For the past three years, Sara has expanded her expertise into the corporate wellness space as a business solutions advisor, helping organizations provide holistic healthcare and wellness benefits, including free pharmaceuticals, to employees and their families. She combines her financial knowledge with a passion for proactive health management, enabling families to protect both their financial and physical well-being. In addition, she is developing Muna Meadow de la Michionne, a holistic retreat center in Fallbrook designed to support women recovering from trauma and PTSD through therapies such as acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, massage, and light therapy.
Beyond her professional and entrepreneurial work, Sara serves as Director of the Global Society for Female Entrepreneurs, where she fosters connections among women in business worldwide. She holds an MBA from California State University San Marcos and an honorary doctorate in humanitarianism, reflecting her commitment to community and empowerment. Her career and life are defined by leading with both mind and heart, advocating preparedness, and providing women and families the tools to safeguard their futures while thriving personally and professionally.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, hard work, and persistence, as well as the support of mentors and community members who invested in me, including those who sponsored my Rotary membership and other opportunities.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to “go back to school” at a turning point in my life, which led me to earn my MBA and better prepare for future challenges.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say align yourself with people that get behind you and come alongside of you. I know my own family, being an independent financial advisor, they're like, just go to work for a bank. And I'm like, no, I want to be of service to my clients and be in their lives. So surround yourself with yaysayers and not naysayers that believe in what you're doing, because being independent is scary. But if you don't have big, audacious goals that basically scare the crap out of you, you're doing something wrong. Like, the healing house is super scary. It's taken all my savings, it's taken so much of my time, but I believe in what I'm being called to do. So if you have a heart to serve, and you have the intelligence to get the licenses and the things that you need in order to do that, then just go for it. And we need more women in insurance and in leadership roles, CEOs, CFOs, presidents, vice presidents, owners of big corporations. We need women to step into those roles to not only use their mind, but lead from their heart. That would be my advice.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges I face are working in male-dominated industries like insurance and the limited visibility for women. Opportunities lie in expanding corporate wellness and employee-benefit programs to improve healthcare access, as well as the growing demand for holistic healing services.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are serving families and women, staying grounded in my faith, being prepared, engaging with my community, and leading with both empathy and intelligence.
