Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sara
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to consistency, accountability, and a strong commitment to following through on my responsibilities. I believe in doing what I say I will do, holding myself accountable for my actions, and always upholding my commitments. Building trust through reliability and maintaining a strong work ethic have been key factors in both my personal and professional growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I once received two pieces of advice that have stayed with me throughout my career: do the right thing even when no one is watching and don't be afraid to stand alone when you believe in something. Integrity is built through the choices we make when there is no recognition or reward, and true leadership often requires the courage to take a position that may not be popular. I've learned that while it's comfortable to follow the crowd, meaningful growth and success often come from having the confidence to trust your judgment, remain true to your values, and lead with conviction.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to lead by example, have confidence in their abilities, and never be afraid to speak up and share their ideas. Building credibility comes from consistently demonstrating professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on challenges. Trust your knowledge, continue developing your skills, and recognize the value you bring to the table.
I also believe it is important to seek out mentors who can provide guidance, support, and perspective throughout your career. Learn from those who have come before you, ask questions, and be open to feedback. At the same time, take the time to observe how successful leaders navigate challenges, build relationships, and make decisions.
Most importantly, remain committed to continuous learning and personal growth. Every experience—whether positive or challenging—offers an opportunity to develop new skills and strengthen your resilience. Stay focused on your goals, be willing to learn from others, and don't allow self-doubt to limit what you can achieve.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field is the ability to set new standards and help shape the future of the industry. As the industry continues to evolve, there are more opportunities than ever to improve processes, strengthen leadership, and create pathways for the next generation of professionals. Those who are willing to embrace change, challenge traditional thinking, and lead by example can have a lasting impact on their organizations and the industry as a whole.
At the same time, one of the greatest challenges is ensuring that you are your own advocate. It is important to speak up for yourself, communicate your accomplishments, and pursue opportunities for growth rather than waiting for them to come to you. Success often requires confidence, persistence, and the willingness to take ownership of your career path. By advocating for yourself while continuing to deliver results, you position yourself to create new opportunities and help raise the standard for others who follow.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are genuine care, integrity, accountability, and leading by example. I believe in treating people with respect, building meaningful relationships, and showing genuine concern for the well-being and success of others. Whether working with colleagues, clients, friends, or family, I strive to create trust through honesty, empathy, and consistent actions.
Integrity is the foundation of everything I do. I believe in doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and holding myself accountable for my commitments and decisions. I also believe that leadership is demonstrated through actions, not words. By leading by example, maintaining high standards, and following through on my responsibilities, I hope to inspire others to do the same and contribute positively to those around me.
