Sarah Beardslee

Sarah Beardslee is a designer and owner of Beads by Beardslee, a Medford, Massachusetts–based jewelry studio specializing in handcrafted, bead-embroidered designs and crystal healing jewelry. Originally trained as a musician at Hampshire College, Sarah’s artistic journey began with music but evolved into jewelry design through a shared creative experience with her daughter. Their collaboration blossomed into a thriving business in 2009, where Sarah has since developed a distinctive artistic voice, blending color, texture, and historical and natural inspiration into each piece. Her designs aim to instill confidence, serenity, and well-being in those who wear them.

Over the years, Sarah has expanded her craft through experimentation with different media, workshops, and classes, while incorporating crystal healing techniques learned alongside a Reiki Master. Her work has been recognized in juried exhibitions, including the prestigious Topsfield gem and mineral show, and she continues to innovate in bead embroidery—a meticulous and expressive medium that defines her signature style. Beyond her studio, Sarah teaches jewelry-making classes, hosts community workshops, and organizes events that engage people of all ages in creative expression.

A committed advocate for the arts, Sarah serves as President of Arts Medford, leads the New England Bead Society (Bead Designer International), and is a founding member of Arts Collaborative Medford, helping to foster community creativity and access to the arts. She also contributes to charitable causes, including the Anti-Defamation League, connecting ethical awareness with her artistic practice. Outside her professional pursuits, she remains active in music performance, reading, cooking, baking, and gardening, blending personal passions with her dedication to artistic expression and community engagement.
