Her Story

About Sarah

Sarah Bozzo serves as an independent living school specialist, working with foster youth aged 18 to 25 to develop independent living skills such as cooking, accessing Medi-Cal and EBT benefits, and building community resources. With a decade of experience in the field, her journey began after her own experience with domestic violence led her to train medical providers at Interface Children and Family Services for four years on screening victims. She later worked as a recovery counselor at a faith-based nonprofit supporting women and families before co-founding the Ventura County Belief Center with her best friend two years ago. The organization focuses on hope, healing, and home through biblical counseling, parenting classes, and outreach programs that partner with local churches and the county to provide food, hygiene items, clothing, and case management. Bozzo holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and is halfway through simultaneous master's and doctoral studies at Summit Bible College, with expected completion in 2028. She also volunteers by cooking weekly meals for a diabetic client on a budget and transporting them between Camarillo and Ventura.
