Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to turning discouragement into fuel. Resilience, support from my family and colleagues, and integrating my patient experience into my work have been key factors. Facing challenges like becoming a mother while managing a chronic illness has strengthened my empathy and commitment to leading with purpose.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Encourage and uplift those around you. Seek mentorship and be honest about your needs when appropriate. Don’t make life harder for others, and use your experiences—personal or professional—to help build supportive environments.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities lie in emerging therapies and international trials, such as stem cell approaches and CAR T–cell research, along with innovation in MS and other neurodegenerative diseases. Challenges include access and affordability of experimental treatments and the need to expand clinical trial availability across the U.S.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Faith, family, empathy, openness about health, mentorship, and leveraging lived experiences to advance patient care are the values I prioritize. I strive to cultivate a supportive and encouraging environment both professionally and personally.
