Her Story
About Sarah
Sarah Childers serves as a UX Design Lead, where she leads team members in discovery work, ideation, and usability testing for both public and authenticated digital experiences. With a background that began in graphic design and print materials at a commercial real estate company in 2008, she taught herself coding to build a website and later transitioned into user experience roles in the life insurance and e-commerce industries. Her interest in inclusive design grew from usability testing experiences, including work with users who have colorblindness, leading her to roles in HR software and her current focus on accessibility. She holds an accessibility certification and belongs to the International Association of Accessibility Professionals. Sarah has volunteered with organizations including the Shriners organization, March of Dimes, National Federation of the Blind, and Level Access, drawing from personal experiences with premature birth to support related causes. She advises young women entering the field to be curious, keep learning, ask questions, conduct research, look at things holistically, and be proactive rather than reactive, especially with fast-moving technologies like AI.
