What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as stated in Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” My dedication and perseverance, shaped by nearly a decade of service in the U.S. Army and following in my family's footsteps, as many of them—including my husband—have served and retired from the U.S. Armed Forces. My passion for community and education has led me to actively contribute locally, including opening Holy Family Catholic Academy this fall (2025) in the beautiful community of Niceville, Florida.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that, “Whatever you do work at it will all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Colossians 3:23-24)
This is achieved through Prayer, Planning, Trusted Advisors, Prayer again, waiting on the Lord’s timing. When you “commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3) There will be delays, setbacks and frustration. Then there will be breakthroughs, peace and abundance. I encourage you to Praise the LORD in and through all seasons, nothing you go through is wasted. While you’re waiting, serve others.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to always seek guidance from the LORD, who holds your future and provides Godly Wisdom through the Scriptures contained in the Holy Bible. The following three Bible verses have assisted me in choosing and discerning the correct career/vocation during different seasons of my life. From Jeremiah 29:11-12 states, "11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” And from Matthew 6:33 states, “Rather seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” If you don’t have the LORD’s peace to do something or remain somewhere, the timing is off, wait on the LORD. In Philippians 4:7 states, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and greatest opportunities—in my life right now is balancing care for my three amazing sons, brilliant daughter, and supportive husband while continuing to make a meaningful impact in my community. Returning to Florida after serving my country gives me the chance to leverage my experience and contribute positively to the state I love.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values in my life are my faith in Jesus and my family; we strive to live spiritually, serve others, and make a positive impact, including feeding the homeless together. “For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)
