Her Story

About Sarah

Sarah Ficka believes the most exciting businesses of the next decade will be built at the intersection of innovation, artificial intelligence, and human connection. While AI is transforming nearly every industry, she believes the companies that will stand apart are the ones that use technology to create more personalized experiences, stronger relationships, and better decisions—not simply faster processes.

That belief fuels much of Sarah’s work. She enjoys developing ideas, improving systems, and finding opportunities where technology can solve real business challenges. Her contributions have included AI concepts focused on enhancing buyer experiences, strengthening brokerage visibility, improving customer intelligence, and creating more intuitive sales experiences. She is passionate about helping organizations think beyond automation and instead view AI as a strategic advantage capable of reshaping entire industries.

Entrepreneurship has also played a defining role in Sarah’s career. In addition to her work in the luxury marine industry, she is the founder of The Inherited Order, an AI-powered creative brand that combines original AI-generated artwork with e-commerce. Her interests span business strategy, branding, marketing, consumer psychology, and emerging technologies, all connected by a shared passion for building ideas that create lasting value.

As a single mother of twin daughters, Sarah approaches every opportunity with initiative, ownership, and an unwavering commitment to learning. She doesn’t believe the strongest careers are built by people who have all the answers. She believes they’re built by people who stay curious, embrace change, and continue showing up long before anyone recognizes the results.

Looking ahead, Sarah’s vision extends beyond any single industry. She hopes to become a recognized voice in artificial intelligence, luxury sales, and business innovation, helping organizations rethink how technology can elevate customer experience while preserving the relationships that make exceptional businesses possible.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sarah

01What do you attribute your success to?

Honestly, I don’t consider myself successful yet. I still feel like I’m building. But if I had to attribute my progress to anything, it’s my willingness to take action before I have everything figured out. I’ve learned that opportunities rarely show up perfectly packaged—you usually have to create them. I’m willing to ask the questions, make the calls, take the risks, and learn along the way. I’ve also learned that no one is coming to save you, and that’s actually empowering. The moment you take ownership of your life is the moment you start changing it.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My dad always told me that my grandfather’s favorite saying was, ‘Do it now.’ It’s simple advice, but it’s shaped the way I approach almost everything. Most people don’t miss opportunities because they aren’t talented—they miss them because they hesitate. The best opportunities in my life came from sending the email, making the phone call, introducing myself, or taking the first step before I felt completely ready. Action creates opportunity, and opportunity builds confidence

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t worry so much about proving yourself—focus on improving yourself. Ask questions, stay curious, and don’t let your ego get in the way of learning. The people who grow the fastest are usually the ones willing to admit they don’t know everything. I also think too many people wait until they feel confident before they take action. Confidence doesn’t come first. It comes after you’ve done the hard things. Be willing to be the least experienced person in the room, because that’s usually where the most growth happens.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Without question, artificial intelligence. I believe AI is creating one of the biggest shifts we’ll see in business during our lifetime. The opportunity isn’t simply using AI—it’s understanding how to use it to create better customer experiences, make smarter business decisions, and build stronger relationships. The companies that will lead the future won’t be the ones with the most technology. They’ll be the ones that know how to combine innovation with genuine human connection. That’s where I believe the real competitive advantage is.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Initiative, curiosity, and ownership. Initiative because the best opportunities in my life happened when I made the first move instead of waiting for one. Curiosity because I never want to stop learning or growing, especially in industries that are constantly evolving. And ownership because I’ve learned that while you can’t control everything that happens to you, you can always control how you respond. Those three values influence every decision I make, both professionally and personally.
