Her Story

About Sarah

Sarah Freedman is a personal injury attorney and Director of Pre-Litigation at Jordan Law, where she focuses on helping clients navigate the aftermath of serious accidents. Her journey into law began with a career in hospitality before she transitioned into the legal field after handing out resumes in Boulder and securing an opportunity to work as a receptionist and paralegal for a personal injury attorney. Encouraged to pursue a legal career, Sarah returned to Colorado and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

Since becoming an attorney in 2015, Sarah has built extensive experience in personal injury law, progressing from an attorney to managing attorney and ultimately to her current leadership role. Her practice centers on car accident and slip-and-fall cases, where she works to help clients obtain appropriate medical care and pursue fair settlements. Her background in both legal support and litigation has given her a well-rounded understanding of the personal injury process and the importance of guiding clients through challenging circumstances.

Beyond her legal practice, Sarah is committed to professional service and community involvement. She serves on the board of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of the Colorado Women’s Bar, contributing to the advancement of the legal profession and the representation of women in law. She also volunteers with organizations including Food for Thought and the Emergency Family Assistance Association in Boulder, reflecting her dedication to supporting individuals and families both inside and outside the courtroom.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sarah

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, dedication, and embracing every opportunity to grow. My journey from hospitality to law began when I walked around Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, handing out resumes to banks and law firms. I started as a legal assistant and progressed to managing attorney and eventually director of pre-litigation, while earning my legal education at the University of Denver.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received has come through the mentors I’ve had in the legal field. Michael Harris, Kelly Balamouth, and Jordan Levine are all accomplished attorneys who have taught me valuable lessons throughout my career. Their guidance and experience have helped shape my approach to both my work and professional growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the legal field is to know that you can build a successful career while also being a present and fulfilled mom. I’ve learned that it’s possible to pursue your professional goals while making time for the things you love, whether that’s raising a family, maintaining a small farm, hiking, or enjoying the outdoors and Colorado’s natural beauty.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field is being able to take on a wide range of cases and make a meaningful difference for each client. I value the opportunity to advocate for people, guide them through challenging situations, and provide the support they need throughout the legal process.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are authenticity, service, and inspiring others through my story. I’m proud of my journey from hospitality to becoming a personal injury attorney, especially advancing in a traditionally male-dominated field. I find great fulfillment in my work and in giving back through my involvement with the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Women’s Bar, and volunteer organizations supporting children and families in need.
