Her Story
About SARAH
I've always had a love of everything natural, and I really, truly believe that what you put in your body and what you say in your mind and to yourself make a huge impact on your health. That's kind of how I grew up - sometimes you just need to change your mind and change your body. If you change your mind, you can change your body, basically. You can change your habits and things like that. I wanted to help people cut through all the confusion that's out there. I think I have a lot to offer, and I wanted to help people, because I think a lot of people are lost and confused. They think that the influencer on TikTok or whatever says, oh, have some creatine, and then they're asking me about creatine. But I tell them, what's your diet like first? If the diet's terrible, then there's no point in supplementing with creatine or protein powders. I think you start getting back to basics and telling people it's okay to go back to basics and you don't need all the other stuff. You can have the other stuff when you have the basic fundamentals right. I help people manage and overcome their midlife health issues - stress reduction, improved sleep, weight management, and pain management. One of the things I'm proud of is bringing greater awareness to natural therapies that help people heal their body, like auricular therapy.

Ten minutes with SARAH
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think having an open mind and truly believing the value that food can heal. Given the right environment, you can heal yourself. That's what I attribute my success to - this fundamental belief that the body has the power to heal when given the right tools and environment.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I think I kind of gave my own career advice when I opened my practice. It was build it and they will come. Straight out of the movie, Field of Dreams, but you know, build it and they will come. I haven't been long in my town, I don't know that many people, but I have a belief that people want to change, and people want some real help with their health. So yeah, just build it, believe it, they will come.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say, let's do some collaborations together, work together. We're not in competition. Together we can make a really strong impact on people's lives. I'm open to collaborations and connecting with other people with like-minded values and passions.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is reaching enough people to really be able to empower them to be in control of their health and really try and get a message across. When there's so much fake news or fake health stuff out there, people don't realize that everyone is completely different. Everybody's body is different, so you're going to react to things differently. You need to kind of be gentle with yourself along the way. You might be on a weight loss journey, and then someone else is having dramatic weight loss, and your weight loss is slower. The comparison doesn't help, because everyone has to do it at their own pace, and everyone releases weight, water, fat, emotional struggles at different stages. So the biggest challenge is getting to speak to enough people to empower them to take control of their own health.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My values are honesty and trust. And I would say believing in yourself. My belief in these values guides everything I do in my work and personal life.
