Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sarah

01What do you attribute your success to?

Having a great support system and an amazing husband who encouraged me to reach for the next position and to keep dreaming bigger, along with drive, perseverance, and being a lifelong learner.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Would you rather say you at least tried and failed, versus the fear of failure kept you from even beginning? I would rather say I tried and failed than I gave up and counted myself out before I could even start.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Find what you're passionate about, and do everything you can to make your life purpose that passion.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The number one challenge is overcoming self-doubt. The field of marketing is vast, with many different areas to specialize in, such as digital marketing, AI, retailing, advertising, and branding; it can be a bit overwhelming to look at from the outside.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and resilience. Honesty is the best policy. In my opinion, being straightforward and transparent helps build your personal authenticity and strengthen your relationships. Resilience is another important value because getting told no once doesn't mean it's the end of the world. It just means you need to look for another path.
