Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sarah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to perseverance, following my own motivation, continued learning, self-awareness, and doing the personal work required to effectively support others. I believe that professionals working in health and wellness must also prioritize their own well-being. Maintaining balance and practicing the same principles I encourage in my clients have been important throughout my career. I also believe it is essential to remain connected to what genuinely motivates and inspires me rather than simply following what others expect.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Following your motivation and what you are genuinely inspired to do is very important. I encourage young women entering this field to approach their careers with perseverance, dedication, curiosity, and a growth mindset. It is also important to maintain balance and prioritize self-care. Doing your own personal work is especially important in this field because we are supporting others in their own health and personal growth.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think there is more awareness of holistic and integrative approaches to health and wellness than there was when I started. We now have greater access to resources and traditional knowledge, including the classics that were not as readily available when I began my career. I also see opportunities for greater integration with Western healthcare. There is a dimension of the field that feels increasingly spiritual, with growing recognition of the deeper connections between physical health, emotional well-being, and the mind-body relationship.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are authenticity, balance, self-awareness, perseverance, personal growth, and whole-person wellness. I believe in helping people become more connected to who they genuinely are rather than simply addressing isolated symptoms or external goals. I also believe that practitioners need to care for themselves in order to effectively care for others, which makes personal wellness, self-awareness, and continued inner work important parts of my professional philosophy.
