About Sarah
She is a distinguished evolutionary biologist and educator with over a decade of experience in research, teaching, and academic leadership, currently serving as Associate Professor at Quinnipiac University, where she has been a faculty member since 2019. Her research focuses on the evolution of social behavior, division of labor, and maternal manipulation in insect systems, including small carpenter bees and Pemphigus aphids. She completed her PhD in Biology from Vanderbilt University and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of New Hampshire, where she studied maternal manipulation and division of labor in small carpenter bees. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is recognized as a passionate, rigorous, and inspiring scientist and educator who is deeply committed to advancing knowledge in evolutionary biology and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
