About the Brand & Maker

• The Creator: Sarah Aj Martin is a designer based near Somerset, Kentucky. Sarah has worked with fashion & design since a young age. In 1995 she directed her educational path toward that field. Her designs were noticed by a recruiter at Pratt Institute in Manhattan, New York. The recruiter flew from New York to Crossville Tennessee to meet Sarah where she was very impressed with her talent for design. Upon graduation from CCHS in Crossville TN she was offered a scholarship to Pratt Institute. That summer after graduation Sarah was able to achieve the dream of meeting one of her favorite designers at the time, Tommy Hilfiger. Mr. Hilfiger was happy to share his fashion design origin story with Sarah & was quite impressed by her passion for the industry. So much so that he offered her a position in his New York design studio when she arrived to attend Pratt Institute. Ultimately she enrolled at the University of Tennessee where she studied art & design. She knew her dreams & talents even from an early age, but life had other plans that a young career in the arts just couldn’t support. Through the years she has established several successful businesses including building her own independent insurance brokerage after moving to Kentucky in 2019. She chose to leave her career as an insurance broker in September 2023, when she was finally able to pursue her lifelong passion for design. She launched her custom hat making & underground fashion lab business, Lids 2 Drip. 
• The Craft: She specializes in one-of-a-kind, handcrafted luxury hats made without modern digitized equipment or prefabricated elements. 
• Materials: She uses top-tier materials like premium 100x fur and beaver felts, custom leather bands, hand-braided details, and unique personal artifacts.
