Sarah Polnitz, M.Ed.
Sarah Polnitz, M.Ed., is a dedicated educational leader and school principal with Peoria Public Schools in Peoria, Illinois. With a strong foundation in instructional leadership and school administration, she is committed to cultivating learning environments where students, educators, and families feel valued, supported, and empowered. Her leadership philosophy centers on fostering belonging, building trust, and creating a positive school culture that promotes academic growth and student success.
Beginning her career as an elementary educator, Sarah brings firsthand classroom experience to her role as principal, allowing her to lead with empathy, clarity, and purpose. She is deeply invested in coaching and developing teachers, strengthening instructional practices, and supporting leaders in making courageous, student-centered decisions. Known for leading with heart, she prioritizes capacity-building, collaboration, and continuous improvement to ensure sustainable, high-impact leadership across her school community.
Sarah’s leadership and dedication to education have been recognized through her selection to WTVP’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2025, highlighting her influence and contributions to shaping the future of education in central Illinois. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership (K–12) at Illinois State University to further expand her impact on school leadership, instructional excellence, and equitable educational outcomes for all students.
