Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sarika

01What do you attribute your success to?

Putting people first and focusing on the people you serve and the purpose behind your work. When you prioritize people and the impact you make, profits will follow. True success comes from focusing on people.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

To keep pushing forward and working for what you want.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You'll only get it if you ask for it. Raise your hand and ask for opportunities. If you hear “no,” use it as direction to gain more experience, improve your skills, and come back ready for a “yes.”

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Entrepreneurship has been one of my biggest challenges, especially when it comes to securing funding for expensive capital equipment. Lasers can cost more than a house, and lenders are often reluctant to finance startups. Finding ways to access the equipment and resources needed to build and grow a business was a significant challenge.
