About Sasha

Sasha Boyce is a Senior Investigator at Idaho National Laboratory, where she has built a career in workplace concerns and compliance investigations since 2015. Based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, she specializes in handling employee concerns related to issues such as time misbilling, workplace mistreatment, and conflicts of interest. Her work involves triaging concerns (including anonymous reports), conducting interviews, gathering and analyzing evidence, and producing clear, fact-based reports that support informed management decisions. Her professional path began in education, where she initially pursued a career in teaching mathematics after earning an associate degree in math. She later transitioned into communications and, after becoming a parent, shifted her career direction again when she was given an opportunity in investigations at a federal contractor, Fluor Idaho. She developed her expertise through hands-on experience, including shadowing senior investigators and working through case files, eventually advancing into roles with increasing responsibility, including program management and leadership in employee concerns programs. Sasha holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Arizona State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, graduating with distinction. Her academic focus emphasized safety culture and effective communication in organizations. In addition to her professional work, she serves as a board member of the Idaho Falls Zoological Society, reflecting her ongoing commitment to community engagement and organizational service.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sasha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mentor, Devon Jackson, who recognized my potential and gave me an opportunity despite my lack of experience. I also credit the unwavering support of my spouse and children, who continue to be my greatest source of encouragement, even with the demanding nature of my work.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice is to be your authentic self rather than suppressing personal qualities like bringing food to work to avoid seeming like 'the homemaker'.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to be bold, be confident in who you are, and stay true to yourself. Your authenticity and strength are valuable, and the world benefits from what you uniquely bring.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that management can sometimes view unfavorable findings from investigations as setbacks rather than opportunities. In reality, these findings are valuable chances to identify issues early, implement corrective actions, and prevent more significant problems from developing in the future.
