Her Story

About Sasha

Sasha Maldonado is an entrepreneur and full-time college student in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is actively building her own real estate wholesaling business while completing her bachelor's degree with a minor in business; she already holds a community college degree and plans to pursue a master's degree immediately afterward. Previously, she worked as a manager at a Puma store, where she achieved notable sales success including a single transaction exceeding $3,500, and as an assistant manager at Lowe's, where she sold over 100 credit cards. Maldonado attributes her success to her faith in God and Jesus Christ, the encouragement of her best friends during challenging times such as a professor blocking her initial graduation, and inspiration from Olympic champions who exemplify hard work and perseverance. She values punctuality in professional settings as a sign of respect for others' time and prioritizes family time in her personal life, which motivated her return to college. Her advice to young women emphasizes pursuing community college or full degrees, seeking scholarships, and considering opportunities like military service for those with culinary skills.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sasha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to God and Jesus first and foremost. My best friends encouraged me to keep going through rough patches like when a professor prevented me from graduating. I look up to Olympic champions and entrepreneurs who show that hard work and perseverance pay off, even when tired or facing storms in life. I believe if a door closes God opens a window to better opportunities.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women in high school to go to college or at least complete community college for two years as it will not hurt and can benefit them. Get scholarships since there is over four billion dollars available. Consider the Army for full benefits and college payment if they know how to cook. Take advantage of opportunities like rabbits that move fast before they run away. God is the God of abundance with no boundaries.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In work I value people showing up on time because it shows they care about the team and others' time including family obligations. In personal life family time is most important which is why I went back to college to avoid working holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas at previous jobs.
