Her Story
About Sasha
I've been in technology for about 3 years now, and in my current role for about a year. When I first graduated college, I was just trying to figure out life and what I wanted to do. My brother and everyone in my family has always been in the technology space, and I said I was going to go the complete opposite direction, but somehow I just found my way back in. It's been the most influential space that I've been in, where I've been able to encourage young women and have conversations with them to let them know that women really do belong in tech. I'm passionate about showing them just how small the industry is for women in tech, and really trying to encourage young women to just be in tech - to go for it, go for the stars. Beyond my work in technology, I started my own business where I help nonprofits and healthcare organizations find their space in the social media space through social media management. Some of my greatest accomplishments include buying a house at a young age and being able to do that on my own through the careers and doors I've opened. I've been able to establish myself in the sales space by being the best at what I do and creating the relationships I needed to create. But what I'm most proud of is encouraging the people around me to be the best that they can be - seeing people thrive, seeing people graduate college that never thought they would go. I look at those as my greatest accomplishments, the things I've done for other people.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I really want young women to know that women really do belong in tech. I think it's so important to have conversations with them about just how small the industry is for women in technology right now. My advice is to just be in tech - go for it, go for the stars. Don't get stuck in the idea of just what you want to do from day to day to survive in this world, but really go for the stars, go for what you want. Try new things and don't limit yourself. Women can absolutely excel in technology, and we need more of them to pursue it.
