What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to organization, persistence, honesty, resilience, accountability, and confidence, along with the willingness to admit and correct mistakes. These qualities have helped me build trust with colleagues, brokers, contractors, and tenants, and have guided me as I worked my way from administrative assistant to Property Manager overseeing two high-rise commercial buildings while also growing my residential real estate sales.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from two incredible mentors: Brandi Vargas, who shaped my leadership style and taught me the importance of guiding others with integrity, and Brian Jordan, who encouraged me to seize opportunities, share knowledge, and continuously grow in real estate.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering real estate to start in residential sales, get involved in local networking and industry groups like BOMA or IREM, ask questions freely, shadow experienced professionals, learn lease language early, and always approach every opportunity with confidence, curiosity, and follow-through.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I see the biggest challenges in my field as understanding complex commercial leases, managing budgets, interpreting contracts, and controlling building expenses, especially during economic shifts. At the same time, there are exciting opportunities in commercial real estate sales, industrial development, and Houston’s expanding Social District, which I’m eager to be involved in.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, I value integrity, transparency, professionalism, loyalty, continuous learning, and treating others with respect, believing that strong relationships are the foundation of success. Outside of work, I enjoy running, biking, rollerblading, traveling, exploring Houston’s restaurants and museums, and seeking experiences that broaden my perspective and creativity.
