Ten minutes with Sayuri

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to never giving up and setting an example for my child by continuing to work and keep trying even when times are tough.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is about perseverance.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Keep learning every day and studying the art market and art history because it all starts in the past to understand the present. Don't get disappointed by many no's because if you keep trying your best there will be a yes.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge right now is the economy, with not a lot of people buying art, leading to a downturn that is not constant but depends on the economy.
