Selam Alebel Hailu

Selam Hailu serves as Global Finance Director for an international organization, a role she has held since July 2023. In this position, she oversees all finance functions in the United States as well as regional offices in Asia and Latin America. With more than 20 years of experience in the sector, Selam previously worked as Head of Finance and Resource at the British Council and as Director of Financing Operations for the World Resource Institute, where she was responsible for the Africa region and helped establish the organization's presence there. Her educational background includes a first degree with a dissertation in accounting, MIS, and management information systems, along with an MBA and a Master of Accounting from Loyola University, Maryland. Throughout her career, Selam has focused on establishing systems, developing policies and manuals, coaching staff, and strengthening internal controls, resulting in clean audit reports and robust governance structures.
