Her Interview

Ten minutes with Selena

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my family being proud of me. It fuels me for the next steps in my life because I would like to be an example to the members of my family and hopefully my children someday.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Do not compare yourself to others' experiences or accomplishments because your road is your personal one and your path is different than any other path. Focus on what you want to accomplish and only compare yourself to your past self.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do not give up, resilience is key, and also patience is key. It's a long road that requires years of studying and experience in the field. Having a Juris Doctorate is a long road ahead. Take it day by day and do not forget the goal.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The main things that are important to me in life is my family. I'm literally in friends, you don't have nothing, you can be out.
