As the founder and creative director of Selene Art & Design, she provides branding, graphic design, web design, photography, and creative consulting services to clients of all sizes. Originally from Venezuela, she relocated to the United States in 2015 and successfully transitioned from traditional employment to full-time entrepreneurship, building a thriving creative business rooted in innovation, integrity, and exceptional client service.
In addition to leading her design agency, Selene is the founder of She is Wanderlust, a travel blog and community dedicated to inspiring and empowering women to travel confidently on their own. Her diverse background spans graphic and web design, photography, marketing, interior design, and creative entrepreneurship, complemented by ongoing professional development in business administration, digital marketing, computer science, and emerging technologies. I attribute my success to curiosity, ambition, and a strong work ethic. I have always been independent and driven to explore new opportunities, challenge myself, and continuously improve. Above all, I believe that integrity, hard work, and a commitment to doing better have been the foundation of my growth and success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never stop learning. Staying adaptable, continuously improving my skills, and embracing change have helped me grow and succeed in an ever-evolving industry.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to choose work that genuinely brings you joy. You'll invest a significant amount of time, energy, and effort into your career, so it's important to pursue something you're truly passionate about. When you enjoy what you do, the hard work becomes far more rewarding.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is the rapid impact of AI on the creative industry. It has changed client demands and made it essential to continuously adapt and expand my skills. At the same time, it has created opportunities to reinvent myself, explore new creative paths, and diversify my work, including pursuing painting and other artistic endeavors.

The values that matter most to me are integrity, hard work, and gratitude. I believe in doing the right thing, giving my best effort, and appreciating where I am and what I have. Staying grateful keeps me grounded and motivates me to continue growing, both personally and professionally.
