Her Interview
Ten minutes with Shae
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it's just the way I was brought up. Education was huge. My dad, rest in peace, his nickname was Doc, because in our small town he was the only one that had a PhD. He would still be taking classes at a very old age. He would take a poetry class. It was always about constantly learning. Nothing should hold you back. If that's what you want to do, we'll then figure out how to get it done, and then do it.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Knowing your boundaries, setting good boundaries, and where's your line. Be mindful of where your line is and not letting people cross that line. It's really difficult because you have to be very aware of what the culture is. Can't go in just start fighting and trying to change things. Picking your battles. You have two ears and one mouth so use them proportionately.
