About Shailin
Shailin Williams has dedicated nearly 30 years to early childhood education as a preschool teacher. For the majority of her career, she worked as a lead VPK teacher, most recently at Stepping Stones Early Childhood Center. In this role, she focused on preparing children for kindergarten through play-based learning and academics while helping them recognize their own importance, understand that their feelings matter, and develop independence in daily tasks such as following directions and self-care.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Being focused on the children and their goal of being successful
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You may be the only Jesus in their life. Show him with love.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think what's important is to be your authentic self, no matter what, or who's in the room with you. And I think that you should be mindful of what's being said to you and how you take that in, but also be true to yourself. Like, if it doesn't feel right, don't go with it. Trust your gut.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Listening to others. it's not all about you sometimes.
