About Shailja

Shailja Agrawal serves as Vice President, Sourcing and Production, Americas, a role she has held for approximately nine years within a career spanning nearly two decades. She leads global sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain operations across North America, with expertise in apparel, medical products including FDA-regulated programs, international sourcing, trade compliance, and building supply networks. Agrawal began with studies in business and accounting, followed by fashion design completed between 2004 and 2006, a two-year buying and merchandising program at the Academy of Design, and Negotiation and Mastery training from Howard completed three years ago. Her professional journey includes early design work for brands such as Fossil, Gap, and others, followed by roles at companies including Scride Athletics, RGA Leatherworks, Vertex, and her current licensed house position. She attributes her success to a constant hunger to learn, curiosity that drives her to embrace new industries and challenges from the ground up, flexibility that proves more valuable than rigid plans, and strong relationships built on integrity, transparency, and delivering commitments. Based in Fresno, California, Agrawal continues to focus on solving complex operational challenges while contributing through writing and executive thought leadership.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shailja

01What do you attribute your success to?

Hunger. I'm always hungry. I always want to learn more, and as we are evolving, we're learning every day, everything, and that's what I attribute my successes to. If we fail to learn and we think we know everything, that is when we are doomed. The first is the curiosity. I've never been afraid to step up into industries or challenges. I knew very little about them, but I learned from them, and ground up. Nothing is adaptive. I just learned to stay flexible. It's often very valuable than having a perfect plan. And finally, I would say relationships. At the end of the day, supply chains are built on trust. The strongest partnership I've built over two decades is having based on integrity, transparency, and delivering on commitments.
