Shajuana Cole

Shajuana Cole operates a tufting business creating customized rugs in Lillington, North Carolina. She has been in the industry for about a year, learning the craft after seeing it on Instagram and ordering supplies to start on her own with her children. Cole creates decorative rugs featuring animated characters or any custom designs using a tufting gun. Prior to this venture, she worked in inside sales, spending 10 years at DirecTV, 5 years at Verizon, and 1 year at SiriusXM. She recently graduated from a biotechnology class and is moving into pharmaceutical work administering flu vaccines. Cole attributes her success to an aunt who inspired her creativity with handmade items and her own honesty and persistence in the face of rejection. She advises young women entering the industry to never give up, reach for the stars, and learn what they need to succeed.
