Shakura Wilkins
Shakura Wilkins is an experienced construction professional with a career spanning more than two decades in project management and estimating. Currently, she serves as a Construction Project Manager at Quality Roofing Company in Boston, Massachusetts, where she oversees on-site operations, coordinates roofing crews, manages material procurement, and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Her expertise includes accurate takeoffs, cost estimation, scheduling, and compliance with building codes, while also leveraging technology platforms such as Roofsnap, ClearEstimates, JobNimbus, and Monday.com to optimize project workflows.
Shakura began her career as a Construction Project Manager at A.N.Y Construction Company, where she managed residential and commercial projects from inception to completion. She also gained valuable experience as an Assistant Engineer at Beacon Skanska Construction Company, performing site surveys, inspections, and documentation to support accurate project reporting. Her early roles in sales and customer service provided a foundation for effective communication and client relations, skills she continues to apply in her leadership today.
A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Shakura is actively committed to professional development, recently completing courses in Construction Management Foundations, Technology on the Jobsite, and Construction Estimating using RSMeans and Cost Data. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a dedication to quality, safety, and efficiency, blending technical expertise with strong leadership to drive successful project outcomes across the construction industry.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to consistency and focus, the blessings of our Creator, and my ability to balance my college journey, while raising a beautiful loving family. I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my family, friends and mentors. The encouragement of my husband of 30 years, whose push to start a construction company with me was driven by our shared vision of building a lasting legacy for our family.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay consistent in your efforts and commitment. You don't have to be the smartest or most well-equipped. With the willingness to learn and the discipline to apply it to your life, success will follow.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field is increasing female representation; when I graduated, only 3% of professionals were women, and while that number has grown, there’s still much room to expand.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are family time, supporting my children in pursuing their own paths, and demonstrating the importance and rewards of entrepreneurship.
