About Shalanda
Shalanda Bouler has spent 31 years in the automotive industry and currently serves as a quality floor inspector in a low-level management role at Ford. She began her career in real estate as an executive administrative assistant to the CFO at A.F. Stein and Sons, an architectural engineering firm, before transitioning to a production role at Ford and moving into quality assurance, where she has remained. Bouler has overcome challenges in a male-dominated field by proving herself over five to seven years, during which she contributed to significant reductions in rework and scrap through accountability for processes. She is now sought out for her input on quality processes. Bouler is currently enrolled in an accelerated Bachelor of Science program at National Lewis and has received in-house ISO training. She attributes her success to leadership skills, understanding, adaptability, resilience in getting the job done, creative thinking, and the ability to move with industry trends while maintaining foresight for continuous improvement. The industry presents ongoing challenges and opportunities as it evolves from gas to electric vehicles and integrates AI into builds and processes, requiring professionals to remain adaptable, versatile, and knowledgeable.

You are more than enough. And your input and your value, it matters.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The industry is ever-changing and ever-evolving, moving from gas to electric vehicles, with AI integrating into product builds and organizational processes. Success requires being adaptable, versatile, knowledgeable, and able to evolve with new trends.
