Grief became part of my story, but I refused to let it become the end of my story. I'm still here and that says it all.

About Shalanda

Shalanda E. Williams is the Founder of Shalady Enterprises LLC, a purpose-driven organization dedicated to helping individuals navigate grief, healing, and personal transformation through coaching, education, speaking engagements, and wellness initiatives. She launched the company in 2026 after establishing the foundation of her work in 2025, following a powerful personal journey of resilience and renewal after the loss of her husband. With more than 25 years of professional experience, including 15 years in education and 10 years in human resources with Walmart, Williams brings extensive experience in leadership, mentoring, communication, and supporting individuals through life transitions. As a Certified Holistic Grief Coach, author, and inspirational speaker, Williams developed a passion for helping others find hope and purpose after unexpected loss. She is the author of the faith-based book Oooh… I Didn’t See That Coming and the Shalady I’M STILL: 90-Day Transformation Journal, resources designed to encourage healing, reflection, and personal growth. She also hosts the Oooh… I Didn’t See That Coming podcast, where she highlights real-life stories of individuals navigating unexpected challenges and discovering strength through their experiences. Her work centers on faith, resilience, and empowering others to embrace new beginnings. In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Williams is the Founder of the Shalady I’M STILL Lupus Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2020 to provide education, encouragement, and support for individuals and families affected by lupus. She holds certification in People Business Leadership from Bellevue College and serves as a minister at her church, where she leads the resource center and actively volunteers in the community. Through her coaching, advocacy, wellness initiatives, and faith-based leadership, Williams continues to inspire others to move beyond grief and tragedy while discovering renewed purpose, strength, and hope.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shalanda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith, my relationship with God, and the unwavering support of my children. These foundations have given me the strength, resilience, and purpose to continue moving forward, even after experiencing profound loss. My passion for helping others through grief coaching and the mission of my foundation motivate me to serve individuals and families as they navigate their own journeys of healing. Through faith, compassion, and a commitment to uplifting others, I remain dedicated to transforming my experiences into hope and support for those in need.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received was to create a clear and strategic plan before making the transition from corporate life to entrepreneurship. Developing 30-, 60-, and 90-day action plans, along with a long-term five-year vision, helped me build a strong foundation and prepare for the challenges ahead. I took the time to ensure my plan was stable and sustainable, waiting four months before fully stepping into entrepreneurship. This preparation allowed me to move forward with confidence, clarity, and a greater sense of purpose as I built my business.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to execute their vision with intention, carefully count the costs, and create a clear plan for success. Do not allow past failures to define your future; instead, view challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. Seek guidance from God or a higher power, find a trusted mentor, document your goals and ideas, and remain persistent even when the journey becomes difficult. Surround yourself with people who believe in and support your vision, stay committed to your purpose, and always have the confidence to believe in your dreams.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I have faced in my field and personal journey has been navigating life after the loss of my husband, an experience that changed every aspect of my life and required me to make significant decisions independently. However, this challenge has also created an opportunity to grow, strengthen my faith, and use my experiences to support others facing their own seasons of grief and transition. Through resilience, lessons gained from my journey, and a deep passion for helping others, I continue to move forward with purpose and embrace my new normal while creating meaningful opportunities for healing and transformation.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are my faith in God, serving others, and living with purpose. My relationship with God provides me with strength, guidance, and the foundation to continue moving forward through life’s challenges. I am deeply committed to helping others navigate tragedy, grief, and difficult transitions by offering compassion, encouragement, and support. Each day, I strive to live intentionally, using my experiences and purpose to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
