About Shalon
Shalon Watts is a registered nurse with over two decades of experience in healthcare. She currently serves as Director of Quality and Accreditation at an acute care hospital in Menifee, California, where she focuses on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices and organizational oversight. Watts began her career as a bedside nurse before transitioning to critical care, where she specialized in open-heart surgery for approximately 10 years. She later moved into quality roles, drawn by the opportunity to address systemic issues and apply her clinical expertise at a higher level. Nursing runs in her family, as her grandmother was also a nurse. Watts earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing cum laude from LaSalle University in 2005 and was invited to join the International Nursing Honor Society. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing at Wilmington University. Her professional affiliations include the Association of California Nurse Leaders, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), where she holds CCRN certification, and the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), where she holds CPHQ certification.
