Her Story

About Shalonda

I am the Manager of Administrative Services in healthcare, where I build the administrative infrastructure that allows executive leaders to operate effectively at scale. I partner with senior leadership to create clarity, structure decision-making, and establish the operational rhythm that supports strategy and growth.

Before transitioning into executive operations, I spent seven years at Cigna as a disability case manager supporting individuals navigating physical, mental, and psychological disabilities. After earning my master’s degree in Health Informatics, I moved into administrative leadership where I now support a multi-state healthcare division spanning the Southeast, Midwest, and Southwest, helping align leadership teams and operations that impact thousands of employees.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shalonda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to consistency, being proactive, and strong listening skills. I make a point to understand what leaders and teams truly need before jumping to solutions. I also try not to take things personally, especially in fast-moving environments. Staying objective allows me to focus on solving problems and supporting the bigger picture. Those habits have helped me build trust and operate effectively in complex organizations.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to always focus on adding value. Don’t just point out problems, but take the time to understand what’s really happening and come forward with a solution. That mindset has guided how I approach my work and how I contribute to the leaders and teams I support.
