She earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and later obtained a certification through Cornell University with a concentration in women's entrepreneurship. Graves founded Boldify after starting with a $20 Facebook advertisement for an e-commerce t-shirt line aimed at helping women start and stay in business. The venture evolved from brunch and learns into an online accelerator model and became an accredited institute in March, featuring a signature audio-first platform designed for busy women. Her main areas of expertise include women's buying behavior, women's social psychology, and the intersection with women's economic development through business. She is a member of Women in Research and the Association of Qualitative Researchers. Graves has received a 40 Under 40 award from Success Sisters Magazine and was recently nominated for a 40 Under 40 Award through the Texas Urban League. She has volunteered with Junior Achievement since 2020. Graves attributes her success to her willingness to do things scared and tackle new challenges daily. She advises young women entering the industry to be brave, put themselves out there, and not fear being a novice.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Shampaigne
01What do you attribute your success to?
My ability to do things scared. Everything that I do on a daily basis is something new and something scary that I do every day. I hold myself to that. Even when it's scary, I do it anyways, because on the other side of that fear is me being one step closer, or maybe even 20 steps closer to where I want to go in business and life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just be brave and put yourself out there, and more than anything, don't be afraid to be a novice. Don't be afraid to be a beginner at something. I think a lot of women are afraid of being embarrassed in public and things like that. You have to be a beginner at something before you can become an expert in public as well.
