Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm a little stubborn, so when I start something I just have to finish it. I'm focused and goal-oriented with a good support system from my parents, family, and great friend group who always support my ideas.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Find something that you like to do, because you're gonna be doing it for a while.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be flexible and understand that pivoting will pull you through times when you feel like giving up. Adjust to the times, like with AI, and don't be afraid of the future.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

For freelancers, the challenge is being consistent with work and constantly finding jobs. Need to juggle multiple things and create own content to stay sharp during downtime.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Stick to it even when it's not easy, especially in the creative field. Be willing to pivot and be flexible because you won't always do exactly what you set out to do, but you can still reach your goals.
