About Shana
Shana Brantley is an accomplished accounting professional who serves as an Accounts Payable Lead and Supervisor, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in accounting and financial operations to her role. Her career began after moving from Texas to Oklahoma City in May 1995, when she secured her first office position as a receptionist. She later transitioned into accounts payable, where she discovered a strong interest in balancing accounts, working with numbers, and managing financial processes. Over the course of her career, Shana has held a variety of positions, including juvenile correctional officer, certified drug technician, and general manager at Burger King, before returning to the accounting field and ultimately advancing into her current leadership role. In her professional capacity, Shana is responsible for key accounts payable functions, including vendor reconciliations and payment proposals. Her career reflects adaptability, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous growth. She earned a diploma in accounting with honors from Wright Business School and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Sorority during her time at community college. Shana attributes her success to hard work and the strong foundation her parents provided, particularly the importance of mastering math skills from a young age and her father's enduring lesson to do things right the first time. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Shana values family, personal growth, and making time for the people and activities that bring meaning to her life. She enjoys baseball and soccer, exercises whenever her schedule allows, and especially cherishes spending time with her 12-year-old son, watching him grow while continuing to grow alongside him. In her free time, she also enjoys relaxing by the pool and binge-watching television shows. Committed to giving back to her community, Shana occasionally volunteers at Mission Arlington in Texas, reflecting her belief in the importance of service and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work and the strong foundation my parents gave me from an early age. They taught me the importance of discipline and encouraged me to master the fundamentals, including math and multiplication tables. My father, in particular, instilled in me the principle of doing things correctly the first time, a mindset that has shaped my commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and dedication throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to always protect yourself professionally by keeping thorough records, documenting important decisions, and ensuring that all your responsibilities are properly handled. I have learned the importance of being prepared, covering all the details, and keeping everything in order so that I can confidently stand behind my work and decisions.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always be true to yourself. Take lots of notes. Make sure to always understand 💯 the task at hand before walking away and if you don't, ask until you do. Always be your own advocate. Dont be afraid to ask for that raise,.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are family, personal growth, and maintaining a healthy balance in life. I enjoy baseball and soccer, and I try to exercise whenever I can, although I do not always have a lot of free time. Most importantly, I value the time I spend with my 12-year-old son and the opportunity to watch him grow while continuing to grow alongside him. Being present in his life has been incredibly meaningful to me. In my free time, I also enjoy relaxing by the pool and binge-watching shows, which helps me recharge and enjoy the moments outside of work.
