Her Story

About Shana

Shana DeLozier-Los serves as an Extension agent with the University of Tennessee in Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee. With approximately four years in the field as an Extension educator, she specializes in adult and youth agricultural education. In her role as a 4-H agent, she oversees animal science-based clubs focused on poultry, equine, horse, and companion animals, and she recently launched an embryology project hatching eggs in five metro school classrooms. On the adult side, Shana conducts farm visits and delivers education through state master programs including Master Beef and Master Wars. She also leads a series on small acreage farming and partners with managed specialists to support new and beginning farmers. Shana holds a master's degree in animal science from Clemson University. She is active in the National Agricultural County Association, where she recently presented a poster at the conference in Denver on a beginning farmers program, and serves as awards chair for the state association. Additional memberships include the National 4-H association, the state 4-H association, and the Tennessee Extension Leadership Academy.
