Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my family, my community, and the responsibility I carry as a Black woman in tech. They are my foundation and motivation, and I am mindful that my work can inspire others who may not often see themselves represented in this space. This awareness pushes me to hold myself to a high standard, consistently demonstrating professionalism, excellence, and leadership while working to create a wider path for those who follow. At my core, my success is rooted in purpose—honoring where I come from, uplifting others, and striving to be the kind of leader I once needed to see.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to not be too hard on myself. Ambition is powerful—especially for women in tech navigating a male-dominated space—but it can also lead to unrealistic expectations and unnecessary pressure. I’ve learned that doing my best is enough, and I don’t have to prove everything all at once or carry everything alone. Giving myself grace is essential to sustaining long-term success. I stay focused and committed, but I also remind myself that I belong in the room without needing to be perfect to earn it.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to believe in yourself and keep going. There will be moments of doubt, difficulty, and uncertainty, but if you are clear about your purpose, stay committed to it. Challenges are inevitable, but persistence is what carries you through. Focus on what you are building, remain consistent in your efforts, and trust the process even when progress feels slow. Growth is often quiet, but it compounds over time. Believe in your path, stay focused, and keep moving forward—you will get there.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is change fatigue, as organizations often roll out multiple initiatives at once, which can overwhelm teams and lead to burnout if not managed carefully. As a leader, I focus on ensuring people understand the purpose behind the work and can connect it to meaningful impact. Another challenge is protecting mental health in fast-paced environments that require constant adaptation. At the same time, there is a strong opportunity to lead more human-centered change—balancing progress with empathy so that organizations can grow without losing sight of the people driving that growth.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is one of my core values—I believe in doing what is right even when no one is watching, and I carry that into every aspect of my work through honesty and transparency. I also value legacy, as I’m mindful that how I show up helps shape what others believe is possible, especially for my daughter and others following similar paths. Together, integrity and legacy guide how I lead, how I make decisions, and the example I strive to set for others.
