About Shanice
Shanice Sam, MPA is an accomplished Integrated Master Scheduler in the defense industry, bringing four years of experience in master scheduling and program management. She began her professional career in 2019 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master of Public Administration from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge. Starting as a Supply Controller at Raytheon shortly after graduating, Sam steadily advanced into master scheduling, a career path that aligns with her expertise in planning, coordination, and program management. In 2023, she joined FlightSafety International, where she currently serves as a Master Scheduler supporting aviation systems within the defense sector and is pursuing a professional certification in master scheduling.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sam is committed to personal growth, leadership, and empowering others. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and has operated a health and wellness business since 2022, where she promotes wellness products and trains others interested in building additional income opportunities. She attributes her success to her relentless passion for excellence and her desire to create a strong and fulfilling lifestyle for her daughter, which continues to motivate her to pursue growth and excellence in every area of her life.
As a woman building her career in a traditionally male-dominated defense industry, Sam encourages young women to remain strong, confident, and bold enough to persevere through challenges and pursue their ambitions. She believes that the presence of impactful women already succeeding in the field demonstrates the opportunities available to those willing to work hard and remain persistent. Guided by her faith, Sam places God first in everything she does and strives to approach her professional and personal endeavors with purpose, determination, and integrity.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my relentless passion for excellence and my determination to succeed in everything I undertake. I am motivated by the desire to continuously grow, overcome challenges, and create a strong and fulfilling life for my daughter, which inspires me to remain focused, driven, and committed to achieving my goals.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to always remain willing to be a student in every season of my career. I believe that continuous learning, staying open to new perspectives, and embracing opportunities for growth are essential to both personal and professional development.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to be strong, bold, and persistent enough to persevere through challenges, particularly in a traditionally male-dominated field. Believe in your abilities, remain confident in your voice, and recognize that there are impactful women already making a difference in the industry who can serve as mentors, role models, and sources of inspiration.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is being young and entering the industry straight out of college while simultaneously learning, developing my skills, and earning the respect of older, more experienced professionals. However, I also view this as a significant opportunity for growth, as it allows me to learn from those with extensive experience, prove myself through my work, and build credibility while continuing to develop as a professional.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value in both my work and personal life is keeping God first in everything I do. My faith guides my decisions, shapes my character, and provides the foundation for how I approach my goals, relationships, and responsibilities.
