About Shannon
Shannon Bruno is a business owner and entrepreneur based in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She owns and operates a restaurant and tavern alongside her husband, a role she has held for the past three years since 2019. Prior to this, she spent 22 years waiting tables, which provided her with valuable experience in the hospitality industry while allowing her creative freedom. In 2019, after graduating from college in 2018 and gaining publishing knowledge from a now-defunct publisher, Shannon founded Shadow House Press LLC. Through this publishing house, she selects and publishes manuscripts to support authors, and she continues to write her own works, recently releasing the anthology Nobody of Consequence featuring creepy stories focused on the absurd aspects of human nature. She emphasizes values of kindness, approachability, zero ego, integrity, and doing no harm in both her business and writing endeavors.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you can't find the story you want to read, write the story you want to read. Have the courage to just suck at it at first. Be willing to get your feelings hurt to get better by attending boot camps and getting feedback from instructors.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Kindness, approachability, zero ego, integrity, and do no harm. I always try to lead with kindness and integrity, and maintain ethics in my writing so as not to harm others.
