About Shannon
Shannon Cuff is a Strategic Account Manager at Dechra, where she specializes in corporate veterinary accounts, strategic partnerships, negotiations, and business development within the animal health industry. With more than 12 years of experience in animal health, she began her career in 2011 in an emergency veterinary clinic before transitioning into industry sales. Her career has included roles with Merck Animal Health, Midwest Veterinary Supply, and PetDx, giving her experience across pharmaceuticals, distribution, diagnostics, and veterinary healthcare.
In her current role, Shannon manages relationships with seven corporate veterinary groups, negotiating partnerships, discounts, and programs that support animal hospitals and their teams. Her ability to build trusted customer relationships and drive business results was recognized with her first President’s Club award at Dechra. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Arizona, completed a 12-week Spine Program through Medical Sales College, and is pursuing an MBA in Business Administration while working toward certification in Strategic Account Management through the Strategic Account Management Association.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Shannon is passionate about animal health, veterinary medicine, and the equine community. She is a member of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and enjoys supporting causes that benefit veterinary professionals and the human-animal bond. She also volunteers at her children’s school and values the importance of balancing professional growth with family and community involvement. Her career reflects a commitment to continuous learning, meaningful partnerships, and advancing solutions that support veterinary practices and the animals in their care.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, adaptability, and the willingness to learn from every opportunity. Although I faced setbacks early in my career, I gained valuable experience across emergency veterinary care, sales, manufacturing, distribution, diagnostics, and animal health. Working with horses and animals also taught me discipline, responsibility, and a strong work ethic, which have continued to shape my professional growth.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering the industry to stay persistent, work hard, and continuously look for ways to grow professionally. Building strong relationships is also important, as networking and getting to know people can open doors and create valuable opportunities throughout your career.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value hard work, continuous growth, family, and strong mentorship. I strive to keep learning and developing professionally while staying grounded in the values and relationships that have shaped my career. My family is especially important to me, and I believe that discipline, dedication, and a commitment to personal growth are essential both personally and professionally.
