Shannon Jordan is a dedicated entrepreneur and educator with a passion for both people and animals. She is the owner of RSJ Labradors, a breeding business she has run since 2008, specializing in high-quality, fully registered AKC Labradors. With over 30 years of experience in the Labrador world, Shannon emphasizes careful breeding, health testing, and raising puppies that are calm, loving, and well-behaved, creating lifelong companions for families.

Alongside her work with Labradors, Shannon has had a long and impactful career in education, serving as a teacher and coach in Lake County and Orange County Schools for nearly two decades. She has led girls’ basketball and track programs, taught life skills and character building, and served as Academy Director at Building Futures Academy, demonstrating a commitment to mentorship, leadership, and youth development.

Shannon’s dedication extends beyond her professional roles to community involvement, including her leadership as President of the Maitland Softball Association, where she organized and managed programs for girls aged 4 to 18. Through her work, Shannon combines her love for animals, passion for education, and dedication to building strong communities, leaving a meaningful impact wherever she goes.

I attribute my success to my passion for helping others, especially children. My experience as a teacher working with exceptional students naturally led me into this role.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is that you can be a successful, responsible breeder if your motivation is rooted in doing what’s right for the dogs.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is navigating increasing regulations and efforts that could make responsible breeding more difficult.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity and compassion, as I strive to provide dogs with purposeful, loving lives while helping people responsibly and ethically.
