Shannon McAvoy is a seasoned chemical engineer and technical leader with over a decade of experience in the energy and industrial sectors. Currently serving as Technical Director at ReNu Technologies, she oversees the Total Fan Health program, ensuring clients optimize cooling capacity while improving energy efficiency and operational reliability. Known for translating complex technical data into actionable insights, Shannon combines engineering expertise with leadership and communication skills to deliver measurable results for clients and stakeholders.
Her career journey began with hands-on engineering roles in refining and hydrogen production at Suncor Energy and Johnson Matthey, where she developed a strong foundation in process optimization, safety, and operational excellence. Over the years, she expanded into commercial and business development roles, gaining a holistic understanding of customer needs, strategy, and long-term partnerships. These experiences shaped her ability to lead teams that bridge technical innovation with tangible business value.
Beyond her professional achievements, Shannon is a passionate advocate for women in STEM. She actively mentors emerging engineers and contributes to professional organizations, including the Society of Women Engineers. When not advancing technical solutions or mentoring the next generation, Shannon enjoys recharging outdoors through hiking, running, and continuously pursuing new learning opportunities.
