About Shannon
Shannon Stephan is the Senior Director of Sales – National at Hotwire Communications, where she leads strategic national sales initiatives for one of the telecommunications industry's leading fiber-optic providers. With 13 years of experience—all with Hotwire Communications—she specializes in developing market strategies, building high-performing sales teams, and educating homeowners' and condominium associations on advanced fiber-optic solutions, including internet, television, phone, and video services. Known for her relationship-first approach, Shannon leads with authenticity, empathy, and a commitment to helping both clients and colleagues succeed.
A graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Shannon has further strengthened her leadership skills through Dale Carnegie leadership training. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for growth within her teams. She attributes her success to staying true to herself, embracing challenges with confidence, and continually investing in personal and professional development. Her advice to the next generation is to trust themselves, take leaps of faith, surround themselves with people who inspire growth, and strive to leave every room better than they found it.
Outside of work, Shannon is committed to giving back to her community through organizations such as Families First, youth basketball programs, and fundraising efforts benefiting the American Cancer Society. She believes meaningful relationships and servant leadership are at the heart of both professional and personal success. An advocate for lifelong learning, she enjoys investing in herself through personal development and staying active by playing volleyball. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to leading with authenticity and staying true to who I am. By being genuine in every interaction, I've been able to build trust, foster meaningful relationships, and create opportunities that align with my values.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to take the leap of faith and trust myself. Growth often comes from stepping outside of my comfort zone, and believing in my abilities has helped me pursue opportunities with confidence.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Invest in yourself, both professionally and personally, especially during your own time. Strive to leave every room better than you found it by contributing positively and adding value. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who have more experience and knowledge than you do—you’ll learn, grow, and accelerate your development by being open to their perspectives.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is identifying and connecting with the right audience in an increasingly broad and competitive landscape. The opportunity lies in refining our approach to reach the right people more effectively while building authentic, lasting connections.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most are building meaningful relationships, using my voice to positively influence others, and leading with empathy. I believe that genuine connections and compassionate leadership create lasting impact in both my professional and personal life.
