Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shannon

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think just really wanting to understand what the objective is and the best way to deliver it where everybody wins. Bank of America quote over every door: treat yourself as a customer. Always ask what is the best outcome for everybody.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Best advice was a negative experience turned learning opportunity: when managing a team in a different state, the team said if everyone is like you back in Delaware it's no wonder they're miserable. Realized you have to learn the culture, learn your people, and get the buy-in of your team.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Roll your sleeves up and know your stuff. Don't let anybody know your business better than you do.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Navigating AI and understanding AI benefits and impacts. Opportunity with working with the consumer credit counseling industry for better outcomes for the customer.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and accountability slash ownership.
