About Shanny
Shannon Stark is Director of Admissions and Outreach at The Colleges of Law, a non-profit law school in Santa Barbara. She began her career in higher education admissions in 2014 at another university before joining the Colleges of Law, where she advanced from admissions counselor through multiple promotions over nine years to her current role as director. Her expertise lies in enrollment management, guiding prospective students through the admissions process, managing counselors, and organizing outreach events. In addition to her work in higher education, she serves as an independent metabolic health coach, drawing on her personal success in wellness to support others. She holds a bachelor's degree as part of five degrees obtained and is an advocate for resources and programs supporting single parents.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Not be afraid to use my voice as a woman... continue to advocate and to use your voice and to speak on things that are unfair or unjust... learn how to use your voice without being too loud
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You don't necessarily have to know what you're going to do with that education... by following your passions and things that feel good... pay attention to the things that bring you joy... follow your heart and things that make you feel good
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Strong family core values... kindness to others... respect and kindness
