She brings ten years of banking experience to her position, having begun her career as a teller at Park Sterling Bank for nine months before advancing to Teller 2 at SunTrust for two and a half years. After a year in customer service at Aaron's, she returned to banking as a universal banker and lead banker at BB&T SunTrust, where she handled loans, credit cards, and mortgages. She later joined Regions Bank as a relationship banker for one and a half years before moving into her current corporate role. Shanti earned her GED after becoming a mother, received the Silver Career Readiness Certificate, and pursued some college studies in Business Administration and Management without completing a degree. She was nominated for Elite Banker by her regional manager and contributed to her team's receipt of the Chairman's Award. Shanti values integrity and character in both her professional and personal life.

Ten minutes with Shanti

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My regional manager Mia said 'you can do it' and 'you can do all things. You got it in you.' It stuck with me and warms my soul.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You can do it. Don't allow your past to determine your future. No matter how many times I was told no, I was determined.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and character are most important. I always try to maintain my integrity not only at work but at home with my children and family.
