Sharon Lucas Brewer is a dedicated professional with a rich background as a Benefits Administrator. After many years in the field, she took on a new challenge working in a technical support call center for eight years, gaining valuable experience in client relations and problem-solving. Recently, Sharon pivoted her career toward the insurance industry, earning her Kentucky life and health insurance licenses. She now works as a self-employed insurance agent, guided by a mentorship program that supports her transition into this new role, allowing her to work remotely from her home in rural Kentucky.
Throughout her career, Sharon has demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. She has authored several books in progress and contributed articles to local newspapers, showcasing her passion for writing and sharing knowledge. I attribute my success to dedication, discipline, and a constant drive to achieve my goals. Outside of work, I am passionate about following the Kentucky Wildcats and enjoy spending my free time reading.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay open-minded and learn from everyone around you. Embracing new challenges is essential, because that’s how you grow and create opportunities for success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is that you can be and do anything you set your mind to. Follow your dreams, stay focused, and don’t let anything hold you back.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is adapting to the rapid changes in IT and AI. It’s important to embrace these advancements while also making sure others know we are here to provide support and guidance.
